University of Wyoming: Science
Initiative Building

A plant growth facility that encourages groundbreaking collisions.

Installation Details

The University of Wyoming Science Initiative Building is a 153,000-square-foot, five-level structure. The building features modern laboratory research space for staff and students, a state-of-the-art greenhouse, plant growth areas, and collaborative spaces to encourage ‘collisions’ that lead to new science outcomes.

Faculty from various departments conduct their own research in the facility. One of the most anticipated features of the building is its 6,000-square-foot complex of research and teaching greenhouses on top of the building. It was an honor to be included in such a prestigious and important project that “will fundamentally change how we address plant biology questions that will enable future agriculture and biodiversity conservation in our state and region.” (UW Botany Professor Brent Ewers)
