Rice University: Ralph S. O’Conner Building for Engineering and Science

Flexible space for research and innovation

Installation Details

The Ralph S. O’Conner Building for Engineering and Science is the largest research facility on Rice University’s core campus, at 250,000 square feet. The space is designed to foster collaboration in four main areas of research: advanced materials, quantum science and computing, urban research and innovation and the energy transition. The new facility is home to state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, offices and flexible collaboration spaces both inside and outside the building. Each area was developed to allow future changes to be easily implemented as the needs of the departments and college continue to evolve.

Cramer placed 214 Fusion desk to counter height chairs in various labs in the Engineering and Science building. Fusion chairs are remarkably durable, reliable and comfortable – making them a favorite for all-day sitters. The proprietary r+ covering is resistant to tears and punctures and the 3.5″ molded foam cushion provides consistent support throughout the day.
